Topic: FITID Inconsistency between Direct Connect and Web Connect

I have developed my own accounting software and it has implemented OFX "Direct Connect" since 2015.  For the most part, it is a God-send as it allows me to keep current with scripts that run automatically.  However, I recently had some intermittent login issues, which caused me to import transactions from downloaded "Web Connect" file, not nearly as convenient.

But here's the issue.  Commerce Bank, NA, uses a different system of FITID's for WebConnect and DirectConnect, so I get duplicate transactions when both are used.  Has anyone else noticed this with this bank or any other financial institutions?

Should they not use the same FITID for the same transactions, regardless of the mode of download?

Have you considered reaching out to Commerce Bank, NA, to inquire about the discrepancy in FITIDs for WebConnect and DirectConnect, and do you think they
