Topic: Chase (credit card)

Hi,

I can not connect to chase OFX connection using the information:

Chase: fid = 10898, name = chase, url = https://onlineofx.chase.com/chase.ofx, org = B1

it gives me an error as below
net.sf.ofx4j.OFXException: Invalid signon: The user cannot signon because of invalid user ID or password, or host is unavailable.
which i am pretty sure that userID and password are correct.

Could you please check for it?

Thank you.

Shusha

Re: Chase (credit card)

The URL has changed to: https://ofx.chase.com

The other parameters are unchanged. My source was the GNUCash Wiki at http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct … _Settings. I have tested this with my account, and it works.

Someone should update the database at some point.

Re: Chase (credit card)

Updated.  Thanks for the info.

Re: Chase (credit card)

When trying to connect through GNUCash using the built-in connection to ofxhome and attempting to list accounts, the connection fails with:

07:03:26 Status for signon request: General error (Code 2000, severity "ERROR")
Error other than those specified by the remaining error codes. (Note: Servers should provide a
more specific error whenever possible. Error code 2000 should be reserved for cases in which
a more specific code is not available.)
07:03:26 Status for account info request: Signon invalid (Code 15500, severity "ERROR")
The user cannot signon because he or she entered an invalid user ID or password.
07:03:26 Operation finished, you can now close this window.

I have two thoughts:
1. I have a very long password (over 20 characters). Could that be the problem?
2. Is Chase not capable of listing accounts?

Any suggestions?

Solved. Need to enable download through the Chase website. See http://www.ofxhome.com/ofxforum/viewtopic.php?id=47456

Re: Chase (credit card)

The connection since October 2022 is not working. Apparently the URL https://ofx.chase.com/ is not available. When connecting _

Connecting to server...
Resolving hostname "ofx.chase.com" ...
Unknown hostname "ofx.chase.com"
Could not connect to server
Network error while sending request
Unlocking customer "538"

I spoke to the customer service, and they couldn't clarify why is not working. According to the agent, the user is correctly setup. She mentioned that thy add an extra security when connecting with Quicken Software, but I am not sure is related to this issue.

The point is that the actual settings are not working.

Re: Chase (credit card)

I also find that the hostname ofx.chase.com has been removed from DNS and so the currently listed settings have no chance of working.  A client will not even be able to start talking to a Chase server.
I find no mention of OFX, QFX, or Quicken on the Chase website.
